Join in the Big Yellow Friday fun this Friday!

By February 26, 2018 No Comments

Although we are promised wintry weather this week, the UK will turn a sunshiny shade of yellow on Friday (March 2) when hundreds of yellow themed events take place around the country to mark Big Yellow Friday, the national awareness and fundraising day for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF).

From bake sales to bingo nights, cycle treks to hill climbs or simply wearing yellow for the day, thousands of people will be joining in the fun to fight childhood liver disease, for which there is still no cure. Amongst those lending their support is Sooty, the famous glove puppet – big in popularity if not stature and certainly yellow – who is celebrating his 70th birthday this year.

Every penny raised on Big Yellow Friday is much needed, as CLDF Chief Executive, Alison Taylor explains:

“Every week in the UK 20 children are diagnosed with a liver disease. It’s a shattering diagnosis for any family as it means a lifetime of care. We provide those families with information and emotional support; we also fund vital research and act as a voice for all those affected. But we rely almost entirely on voluntary donations, which is why Big Yellow Friday is such an important day for us. Whether you bake some yellow cakes or simply donate through our website, your contribution is making a real difference to families around the UK.”

You can support Big Yellow Friday by visiting our website or donate £10 by texting BYFR18 £10 to 70070.
