Trustee Vacancies

Every week more than twenty children are diagnosed with a liver disease in the UK.

Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) is the only UK charity dedicated to fighting all childhood liver diseases. We are unique in our services and mission, playing a pivotal role in advancing understanding of the causes, diagnosis and treatments of childhood liver disease. For 40 years CLDF has responded to the needs of children and their families through the establishment of its unique research, education, and patient and family support programmes.

2020 has been a very challenging year for the charity and we have now entered a stabilisation period where we continue to deliver our core services virtually, and plan for future development.

An opportunity has now arisen for new Trustees to join the CLDF Board and help us to get through to the other side of the pandemic, maximise our beneficiary outcomes and look to the future.

We are particularly keen to seek candidates with the skills, experience and enthusiasm to help our fundraising work and who can assist our communications strategy, promoting our services, increasing our digital reach and helping us to grow our networks. If you feel you don’t you have these particular skills but have others you feel would contribute to the trustee board, please still consider applying.

You will be an ambassador for the charity and be happy to assist with funding opportunities and increasing our profile.

Trustees must be committed to the mission and values of CLDF. Experience of successfully contributing to committees or boards is desirable.

As part of a strong Trustee Board you will also provide the strategic direction for the charity and ensure that all appropriate financial and legal checks and balances are in place. You will believe in and support our work and your sound judgement will secure your position as a trusted adviser and ambassador who can contribute their skills to changing people’s lives through a hardworking charity who make a real difference to the lives of our beneficiaries.

Closing date for expressions of interest is 9am on Monday 1st February 2021.

We envisage interviewing prospective candidates on Monday 22nd February, circumstances allowing.

Please see the Trustee information pack for more details about the charity and the role.
