The marathon EVERYONE can complete
Fancy all the glory of running a marathon, but without the sore feet and intensive training? Then MyMayMarathon is for you!
Complete the marathon distance of 26.2 miles over the month of May, get sponsored and help to make a difference to the lives of thousands of UK children and families affected by a childhood liver condition. Your virtual challenge can be completed however you like, and at a place and a pace that suits you.
How can I join in?
Whether you…
Run it
Walk it
Cycle it
Dance it
Share it
…or all of the above! We’re in it together.
Getting started couldn’t be easier, simply set up a fundraising page via our CLDF JustGiving site.
What are the rules?
There’s no minimum fundraising target and MyMayMarathon is free to enter! We know that 26.2 miles isn’t for everyone, so we’re also happy for you to use 2.6 as your fundraising theme – there are lots of ideas on this here.
Whether you’re 8 or 80, we’d love for you to get involved.
You’ll have to follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing, but around this you can do your activity whenever and wherever is most convenient for you.

Be inspired by 5 year-old Ada.
We think that variety is the key to keeping this fun, so why not try involving your kids, your four-legged friends, a crazy outfit, or try something entirely new for a mile?
You could run a mile a day. Vow to share the distance with friends and family on your regular lockdown chats. Pound the treadmill. Take to the roads on your bicycle.
Don’t forget to send us all of your photos!
CLDF is on hand to help
We will be there to support you at every step of your journey, and as a thank you to our supporters you will receive a bespoke MyMayMarathon certificate – plus we will send one to your sponsors if you would like us to.
Fundraising doesn’t need to be daunting. Asking just 20 people to sponsor you 20p per mile would raise over £100! Remember to share your JustGiving page with all of your family and friends.
If you have any questions or require any further information please email us at fundraising@childliverdisease.org.
Keep your supporters updated with Strava
It’s easy to keep your supporters in the know about your progress. Add Strava to your JustGiving page to share your fitness tracking, training pics, maps and miles with others as you complete your challenge. Your activities will automatically get posted to your fundraising page, where you can choose to share them across social media.
People who do this raise on average 40% more than those who don’t! Find out all you need to get going here.
What your fundraising could do
Join other #TeamCLDF members on our mission to raise a combined £10,000.
We are working tirelessly to help our families through this crisis. On the phone, via email, Facebook, Zoom support sessions, writing blogs and working with NHS partners on messaging and advice etc. The 8,000 families being supported are mostly all shielding, and we are supporting our NHS colleagues by providing the practical advice, support and guidance they need. We are hugely grateful for your support; we have a fantastic group of supporters who help us deliver vital services and in these uncertain times we need your support more than ever.
