Northumberland Triathlon – June 2020

The Northumberland triathlon is based in the centre of Druridge Bay Country Park, located right next to a stunning bay, on a beautiful stretch of Northumberland coastline, it’s a popular place to ride, cycle, walk, paddle and surf and perfect for a fun family day out.
The swim will be in the warm shallow freshwater Ladyburn Lake set within the park grounds. The bike route will take you out of the Country Park along a beautiful coastal route and the run will be a multi-lap route on the footpath that winds its way through the woods and meadows that surround the lake. Attracting a wide range of competitors from all abilities, it’s a classic, straight forward and very well suited to beginners, equally attractive to seasoned competitors and those people wanting to move up from sprint to standard distance.

-Sprint Triathlon and Relay: Distance: 750m swim / 20km bike / 5.75km run
-Standard Triathlon and Relay: Distance: 1.5km swim / 40km bike / 11.5km run

Woodhorn Museum Triathlon - July 2020

ETU STANDARD DISTANCE TRIATHLON EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER

This perennial favourite is held at Woodhorn Museum in the QE2 Country Park which boasts a 16 hectare lake surrounded by developing woodland and open grasslands.
A ‘sell out’ event attracting a top quality field and with a wide range of experienced triathletes. If you are a first timer or new to the sport there’s no need to be concerned about entering. We look after everyone regardless and will be with you all the way around the course. It’s fun and accessible for all ages and abilities to take part in, and you can be assured that there will be plenty of other Tri-athletes of a similar ability to you taking part.
The swim will be in the warm shallow freshwater lake. The “undulating” bike route will take you out towards Widdrington Village, before sweeping onto the coast road near Druridge Bay and then along to Cresswell village with some breath-taking views along the coast line. The run will be on the footpath that winds its way through the woodland and open grasslands that surround the lake and run passes the Finish at the end of each lap making this ideal for spectators to cheer everyone on to a great finish with a big smile.
