It started with his eyes and within 2 days he was yellow from head to foot. After various tests and a liver biopsy, he too was diagnosed with AIH.
Devastated does not cover it.
Fast forward 3 years and he is living his best life. Yes, he takes Azathoprine every day, yes he gets very fatigued but he is in University away from home and lives a great life. Plays football, goes to the gym, has a girlfriend, holidays abroad, all the things you would want for a 20 year old boy.
It is a difficult disease to get your head round and I would give my right arm for it not to have happened to him but I promise you it will get easier xxx
