Call for participants for education research project

We know that the effect of a childhood liver disease on education is a worry for many, so we’d like to invite interested young people and their parents to take part in a research project on this topic.

We are working with Dr Simon Pini, who is an Associate Professor of Child Health at University of Leeds. You can see more about him here  .

Simon leads the INSCHOOL project, which is a five- year research project looking at the school lives of young people aged 11-18 who have a long-term health condition. The aim of the project is to identify what needs young people have in school in order to determine the best areas in which to develop new support and interventions.

So far, the INSCHOOL project has spoken to over 100 young people from different clinics at Leeds Children’s Hospital, as well as some of their parents, but Simon is keen to speak to more and is particularly interested to hear from young people with a liver condition.

The project will also share their results with us, so alongside our recent children and families survey we can find out even more about the effect of childhood liver disease on education if you take part.

If your child is 11-18 years old and has a liver condition or has been through transplant, then we would love them to take part in the project. This simply involves completing the online assessment which takes 8-10 minutes. You can do it by following this link

You can find detailed information about the project here.
