A message from Chief Executive, Alison Taylor

With a heavy heart, I have decided to leave my role as Chief Executive at CLDF in the New Year.

Over the last eight and a half years, I could not have been prouder of the charity, and I feel very privileged to have been its Chief Executive, it has been an honour.

The last 20 months have been incredibly challenging for all of us; there were times I was unsure if the charity would be able to weather the financial effects of COVID-19, but we have. So much of that is down to our wonderful supporters and the amazing CLDF team.

On a personal level, over the last two years my parents’ health has declined significantly and, when I’m not working, my main focus is them. I need a period of rebalance to make sure I can get in the extra support for them so they can stay in their home for as long as possible.

It has been a complete pleasure undertaking my role at CLDF – from representing the views and needs of our families and young people to being alongside you all at family and fundraising events and young people’s residentials. It’s hard to think of life without you all, but I will be cheering you on and championing what is a small but mighty charity.

The Board is currently in the process of recruiting an interim Chief Executive and we shall be announcing details as soon as we have them. My last day with the charity will be 14th January 2022.

My successor will be very lucky to be working with a great team and many wonderful young people, families and supporters. Once again, thank you so much for the goodwill and support you have shown to me. I am truly grateful.

We always love to hear from you so if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
