We always love to hear stories of supporters who have managed to raise funds for CLDF simply by doing something they enjoy, which is just what Roger did last year.
“I’m a member of Wokingham and East Berkshire Camera Club (www.webcc.org.uk). We like to increase our involvement with the local community by providing photography support to various events and for some years we have been involved with Wokingham Bikeathon which takes place in June each year.”
The Bikeathon attracts several hundred cyclists ranging from local club cyclists to families who ride one of two local courses. We provide photographers at the start and finish and throughout the courses and make the pictures available to both organisers and participants. The Bikeathon organisers are kind enough to offer to donate £200 to a charity of our choice and this year the Camera Club was kind enough to allow me to nominate the charity. As a parent of a daughter who had a transplant as an infant and is now a very happy and healthy 29 year old I chose CLDF!
Thank you Roger for thinking of us. And if you think your hobby or pastime could benefit CLDF in any way, please let us know at fundraising@childliverdisease.org.
