CLDF has introduced two new leaflets designed to help parents support children with a liver condition.
‘Support through your child’s liver journey’ contains information on all aspects of living with liver disease, from top tips for clinic visits and hospital stays, to how to access financial support and what to consider when going on holiday.
‘Supporting Young People’ which is aimed at parents of children aged 13 and over includes guidance on supporting your child as they grow up, moving into adult services, prescription charges and available benefits.
“There are so many issues which parents need to consider following a diagnosis of liver disease in their child, that we thought it would be helpful to bring them together into one leaflet, depending on the age of the child” explained CLDF’s Information and Research Hub Manager, Harpreet Brrang.
“We’re really grateful to the medical professionals at Kings, Leeds and Birmingham Children’s Hospitals who helped us produce this information and also to the parents and young people who contributed a wealth of advice based on their own experience.”
