It was wonderful to meet so many of our families last week at the British Transplant Games, the first one we have attended alongside our colleagues from the British Liver Trust.
As ever, the Games were a great opportunity for a face to face catch up, and as the past year has seen so much change for the charity, most notably the merger with BLT, it was great to let people know that we’re still here, working on behalf of all our families – only now we don’t need to say goodbye to our young people when they reach the age of 25!
We felt privileged to be able to cheer on so many of our young people in everything from swimming to badminton and to see them pick up so many medals. A full list of medal winners, including all the wonderful young people we support is now available here Results | British Transplant Games
And we were delighted that our giant photo frame proved so popular – even if it only helped people to see where we were!
Most of all however, it was about taking part and being part of this wonderful transplant community when we know what difficult times our families have been through to get to a celebration like this.
If we missed you, and you wanted to have a chat or even share your story please contact us at families@childliverdisease.org. Otherwise we look forward to seeing you again next summer!
